After such cleaning, the tablet will return to its standard form for this model, as if it were out of the box. Let's look at all the ways to reset the system. Any hard reset looks like rebooting the tablet and formatting the information in it. In each specific case, the operation can be performed differently, for example, by clearing the SD card or resetting the pattern.

Before resetting system settings don't forget to save your data located on the tablet (SMS, contacts and other records). After a reset, all user entries are erased from memory along with the settings.

Method 1 - Through the menu(if the tablet turns on) Method 2 - Digital combination (if the tablet turns on) Method 3 - Using buttons(if the tablet does not turn on)
1. Turn off the tablet. The battery must be fully charged. 2. We press two buttons at the same time: power and volume up rocker. You will see a green robot on the display - release the buttons. 3. We are waiting for the Recovery menu to open. If nothing opens, press the power button once, or the home button. 4. Navigate through the menu using the volume rocker. Select an item wipe data/factory reset. To do this, you need to press the Power key, which in this case serves as the OK button. 5. Next question will appear confirm wipe of all user data, we agree by selecting the item Yes - delete all user data. 6. After this, select the item reboot system now, the tablet will reboot and clear itself.
Method 4 - Through the service center Attention! Resetting the settings will destroy all your data from the tablet, including contacts, messages, accounts, installed software. If there is no need to reset, don't do it! In any unclear situation, it is better to contact a specialist. If you have any questions, ask them -

What to do if it doesn’t turn on Acer tablet? My favorite tablet, which was so convenient to read books and enjoy games on, suddenly stopped turning on. Here are some reasons and solutions to them:

  • The battery is low;
  • The power button is broken;
  • Malfunction of the power connector;
  • Operating room flew off Android system;
  • Internal mechanical failures;
  • Recommendations from the Service Center.

The battery is low

A common problem with a tablet that won't turn on is a dead battery. So first of all, connect Acer device to the charger and wait until the charge indicator appears. If the battery no longer holds a charge, it is better to replace it.

The power button is broken

This problem occurs due to frequent on-off switching. Each element has its own service life, perhaps it has expired on the Acer tablet. There are two reasons - a broken button lever and loose contacts. To fix it, you need to disassemble the tablet and check for damage. It is recommended to have this done at a service center that repairs and maintains Acer equipment.

Power connector malfunction

Frequent breakdowns that interfere with the normal charging process. Reasons why the tablet does not turn on:

  • loose contact due to careless use of the AC port;
  • burnt-out connector due to the use of an inappropriate charger;
  • power surge in the network.

To fix it, the tablet is disassembled, the connector contacts are restored, or it is completely replaced.

Android operating system crashed

When running the Android OS, there are often software glitches that interfere with important files, necessary for booting and operating the tablet computer. This happens due to:

  • installing broken programs;
  • "glitches" in programs;
  • updates operating system;
  • firmware to an alternative version.

The tablet does not turn on in such cases - it either hangs on the splash screen with the Acer logo, or immediately reboots. To restore the OS you need to log in engineering menu(recovery) by holding down the power and volume keys at the same time. If the firmware is “bricked,” you will need to connect to desktop computer and use special programs for recovery. Solving problems related to software Devices are best left to professionals.

Internal mechanical failures

If an Acer tablet is dropped even from a small height or accidentally sat on it, and it does not start, then there is a high probability of not only external visible damage (cracked screen, scratches on the case), but also internal, invisible damage to the eye. To identify the exact cause, the gadget is disassembled and the electronics are completely checked with an oscilloscope.

Tablet - complicated electronic device, sensitive to shocks, power surges and high humidity. Repair at home is a non-trivial task associated with engineering skills, the use of special equipment for diagnostics, restoration and replacement of damaged elements. The service center has everything you need, where you can quickly and comfortably repair your Acer tablet with a guarantee of continued startup and performance. The quality control department checks whether the tablet computer and delivers working equipment to the owner free of charge.

The Acer Iconia Tab A510 tablet has been repaired. The device did not turn on. We started diagnosing. Motherboard, installed on the tablet, is available for download. We started the test by measuring the voltage on the battery. It’s not hard to guess that there was no 3.7V needed for the battery to start. We found a defect in the charger circuit BQ24171; there was no 12V from the network at the PR7 current sensor, and accordingly the battery was not charging. The reason for this was a failed PQ23A.

It is important to note that all the time we supplied voltage to the +12V input not using the original power supply, but by soldering the LBP terminals to PD1. More on this later, at the bottom of the article, in the section “repairing the Acer A510 power supply”

After replacing the mosfet, the tablet began to consume more than 1A, the battery began charging, and the red charging indicator diode lit up. But the tablet never turned on. started checking the power circuits, looking for the reason for not turning on.
After supplying 12V to the board, the PU1 charger must raise VDD_3V3_BQ24171_VREF (enebl signals for PU2, PU4, etc.), which, together with +VIN, organize power supply to the secondary circuits. I described everything very roughly, in reality everything is more complicated, you can figure it out from the diagram, since during the test, all the power supply at this stage was normal, all the microcircuits, except PU7, worked properly. The problem turned out to be in the circuit of the output stage PU7, namely - there was no power VDD_1V8_GEN, there was short circuit at the output from inductance PL15 (see photo). The voltage VDD_1V8_GEN generated by the PU7 PWM controller is very significant in the operation of this circuit, since it provides power to the PU1 processor, RAM, and is the input voltage for the power drivers of such important circuit blocks as the g-sensor, tablet camera, audio codec, etc.

We removed the coil, it became clear that the short circuit was not from the side of the PU7 shim. Having selected the charger and supplied 1.8V from laboratory block power supply into the circuit when the tablet was turned on, we saw an indication and an Acer screensaver. The tablet turned on. We eliminated the short circuit in the circuit, returned the inductance to its place, and completely restored the operation of the tablet.

Acer A510, A710 power supply repair

Failure of the power supply is a typical problem for this model. A new unit is expensive, but any 12V 1.5A power supply can be converted. How to remake the power socket can be found on the Internet, and there is nothing complicated, you just need to cut the connector and deal with the “Acer contact group”.

Remaking the power supply/connector in Acer A510, A710

In our case, the problem was precisely with poor contact between the socket and connector. The photo shows that +12V power is supplied to the board through the 4th leg of the connector. But there was no contact due to worn plastic in the socket. We found 3 unused contacts in the connector, and it was through them that we passed the power, short-circuiting 4-6 legs of the connector. Then they assembled and soldered the nest in reverse order, and filled it with epoxy. The tablet began to see the network normally and charge. Result in the photo:
