The Dir-320 router, the brainchild of the popular company D-link, is a wireless router with a data transfer speed of 54 Mbit/s and USB 2.0 support.

Unfortunately, at present this model is practically no longer relevant, since the technical characteristics of the router - according to current demands - leave much to be desired.

Therefore, relatively recently - in 2011, the company "D-link" released the updated "Dir-320 NRU" with support for "WiMAX", "3G GSM", "CDMA" and a data transfer rate of up to 150 Mbit/s - for 2011 this is enough good performance.

This manual shows and explains in detail how to set up a Wi-Fi router D-Link DIR-320 for Beeline and Rostelecom Internet.

Let's look at the following points step by step:

  • How to connect DIR-320 to the Internet line and computer for setup
  • How to set up an L2TP connection for Beeline Internet and PPPoE for Rostelecom
  • How to set up a Wi-Fi password and wireless network name
  • Settings television IPTV(Digital TV Beeline and Rostelecom).

So, everything you might need to set up this wireless router is here, you just have to read it carefully.

How to connect a router

I’ll start with how to properly connect a Wi-Fi router to configure it, since even here there are problems.

On the back of the D-Link DIR-320, not counting the power supply and a couple of buttons, there are five ports: 4 LAN and 1 Internet. It is to the last connector that you need to connect the cable from your Internet provider.

I also note that the setup itself will be easier if you perform it from the computer that is connected to the router by wires: connect one of the LAN ports on the device to the connector network card on the computer.

And the last two points:

  • When setting up, the Beeline, Rostelecom or High-Speed Connection connection on the computer must be disconnected. And after you configure it, do not launch it either - the router itself will connect to the Internet.
  • If you are unable to enter the router settings, as described below, .

So, now you can begin the setup itself.

Logging into the settings web interface

To enter the D-Link DIR-320 settings, launch the browser and enter 192.168.0.1 in the address bar, you should see a login and password request. Standard login and password, if you have not changed them before - admin(if the password does not match, then you will be thrown back to the password entry page. It may have been changed. Then you can reset the router to factory settings by pressing and holding the Reset button for 15-20 seconds).

After entering correctly you will be at home page with basic information about the device. Click "Advanced Settings" at the bottom of the page.

Setting up D-Link DIR-320 for Beeline

To configure the connection, in the “Network” item, select “WAN”, a list of connections will open. At the bottom of the list, click “Add” and set the following Beeline Internet connection parameters:

  • Connection type - L2TP + Dynamic IP
  • Login, password - your Internet login information that you received from Beeline
  • VPN server address - tp.internet.beeline.ru

There is no need to change any other settings. Click “Save”, after which the page with the list of connections will open again, and at the top there will be a notification with a unit, click on it and click “Save”.

Now, if you refresh the page, you should see that the connection you just created is now in the "Connected" state, which means that the Internet is configured correctly and you can go to Wi-Fi settings networks. Do not forget, the Beeline connection on the computer must be disconnected.

On the advanced settings page, under “Network,” click “WAN.” A list of connections will open, where there will be only one - click on it, and on the next page click “Delete”. You will be returned to the already empty list of connections. Click “Add” and enter the following parameters for the Internet from Rostelecom:

  • Connection type - PPPoE
  • Username and password - Internet login data provided to you by Rostelecom

The remaining parameters can be left unchanged; click “Save”. You will be returned to the list of connections. Please note that at the top of the DIR-320 settings page the “light” is lit, click on it and select “Save”.

Please refresh the page in a minute. If you see that the connection status has changed to “Connected”, then you have done everything correctly and the Internet is already available, you can proceed to setting up Wi-Fi. Let me remind you that the Rostelecom connection on the computer itself must be disabled.

Setting up a Wi-Fi network

In order to configure the wireless Wi-Fi network settings on the DIR-320, on the page with advanced settings in the Wi-Fi item, click “Basic settings”; on the page that appears, you can set your wireless network name (SSID) instead of the standard DIR-320.

Then save these settings and return to the “Wi-Fi” item, now you should select “Security Settings”. This is where the Wi-Fi password is set. Recommended settings:

  • Network Authentication - WPA2-PSK
  • PSK encryption key (password) - at least 8 characters, without Russian letters.

Save the settings, don’t forget to also click “Save” at the top of the change indicator (light bulb). In general, the DIR-320 setup is complete.

TV setup

In order to set up digital television Beeline or Rostelecom, on the main page of the router settings, select “IPTV Setup Wizard”, in it indicate the port where the set-top box will be connected and save the settings. Connect the TV set-top box to the selected LAN port.

D-Link routers are very popular among users. Therefore, instructions for setting up, setting a password, solving some problems, etc. are always relevant. In this article, we will set a password for Wi-Fi on a D-Link router. I will show the whole process using a model as an example. D-link router DIR-615, which we configured in the article. In the instructions for setting up certain models, I always try to write about setting a password for the wireless network. But a general article for all D-Link models would not hurt.

Using these instructions, you can set a password on D-link DIR-300, DIR-615, DIR-320 and other models. Is that there? different versions firmware that differ in interface. Therefore, let's consider several options.

Regarding the issue of installing protection on Wi-Fi network, That It is necessary to set a password. And preferably during the first setup. Believe me, there are many people who want to connect. And this is an extra load on the router, low connection speed, and it’s not safe. It may even be that by connecting to your network, a third party will gain access to your files. Now, if you don’t have a password right now, you can take a look. If your network has been open for a long time, then I am sure that you will see not only your devices there.

Therefore, I advise you to come up with good password, be sure to remember it (or write it down) and protect your home network.

Instructions for setting a password for the Wi-Fi network of a D-Link router

In fact, nothing is difficult. First, go to the router settings. It is advisable to connect to the router via cable. But, if this is not possible, then you can use Wi-Fi (if any problems arise after installation, see solutions at the end of this article).

In the settings go to the tab WiFi - Security Settings (if you have English language menu, then change it to Russian). In the drop down menu Network authentication install WPA2-PSK. In the field PSK encryption key enter the password that will be used to connect to your Wi-Fi network. Just come up with a more complex one than my “123456789” :) The password must be at least 8 characters long.

In the section "WPA encryption settings" We don’t change anything, we just press the button Apply.

If your control panel is different from the one I have in the screenshot above, then you can try.

If you don't want to update the software, here's another one: instructions for installing protection on D-link with older firmware (light interface) :

In settings go to the tab Configure manually.

Then, open the tab WiFi And Security Settings.

Set a password, save the settings, and reboot the router.

And also instructions for firmware with a dark interface:

Save the settings and reboot the router.

What should I do if I can’t connect to Wi-Fi after setting a password?

A very popular problem is when, after setting a password for Wi-Fi, computers, phones, tablets, and other devices do not connect to the wireless network. On a computer, this is usually a well-known error. "The network settings saved on this computer do not meet the requirements of this network", or "Windows was unable to connect to...". Mobile devices may simply not connect.

What needs to be done. You just need to delete the Wi-Fi network on your computer, forget it, and reconnect with the password that you set in the router settings. It's very easy to do. I wrote about this in detail in this article:. If you have Windows 10, then see the instructions.

On mobile devices you just need to click on the network, hold it for a while, and select Delete from the menu.

D-Link DIR-320 is a router that allows you to organize a wireless network to connect to the Internet. Built-in firewall protects users of the entire WiFi network. The router is equipped with additional security features (MAC filter) and encryption (WEP and WPS), which minimizes unauthorized access to the access point.

Any wireless network needs protection from connection by unauthorized persons. There are several ways to restrict access to the router. The simplest of them is to set a password for WiFi. To do this, you need to connect the router to your computer, configure it, and then proceed to set a password. As an example, let's try to set a password on the WiFi D-Link DIR-320.
