Widgets are graphic objects that display information or perform certain actions. They were created to simplify device management, monitor dynamic information, and generally decorate the workspace. Widgets for tablets come in a variety of varieties, but they can all be divided into groups:

Widgets and/or icons

There is no definite division between them in the world. If it is convenient for us to call program shortcuts icons, then in some countries they are also called widgets. For example, even in the Android Play Market there is no difference. Evidence of this is the “Add widgets to the screen automatically” function. If you uncheck the box, icons will not appear on the display screens when installing applications.

How to remove widgets from the tablet screen?

In order to remove widgets from the tablet screen in Android, just hold your finger on the block for 1-2 seconds, and then move it to the top of the tablet, where the image of the trash can will appear. That's it, you deleted it from your desktop.

In Windows, you need to make the block active, and then click on the button with a cross.

Widgets can be pre-installed on your device initially. Often it is primitive, not distinguished by either functionality or beauty. Most come with downloaded applications. They can also be downloaded separately in App Stores. If you have a third-party launcher (bootloader) installed, then you will have to download the required content manually one by one. By the way, standard ones always fit almost all launchers.

System widgets

There are a huge number of system information blocks. This could be the clock, the state of the battery or memory, both RAM and on storage media, CPU load monitoring, and others.

Extension widgets

They come as an addition to the application. For example, the Web Money block displays the amount of money in your wallets. Clicking on it will launch the application itself. If necessary, you can protect your login with a password. Clean Master displays the active RAM+ it has a button that automatically terminates unnecessary processes, turns off unused modules and clears the cache. All with one click.

Shell widgets

Such widgets come as an addition to shells (Wizard). As a rule, they only fit a specific shell and cannot be installed without it. They differ from ordinary ones only in matching the design of the launcher or in a more beautiful appearance.

For example, in Next Launcher the contact block is displayed as a honeycomb. The latter can be turned over and several hundred can be added at once. For each cell, you can take a miniature photo directly from the camera or upload it. But the most interesting thing is that when you double-click on a cell, a call is made, that is, you do not need to go into the phone book.

You know how to delete widgets on a tablet, but with launcher widgets things are different. The fact is that such blocks are considered separate applications, so they need to be deleted separately. It's easy to do. For example, if you installed GO Launcher, then in the list of applications all programs starting with the word GO will belong to this launcher, and so will widgets.

Our next lesson in the training course is devoted to how to clear your desktop of unnecessary shortcuts.

According to the latest data, in digital store Google Play Almost 2 million applications have been downloaded, most of which are free programs. At the same time, the functionality of applets extends from simple notepads and calculators to controlling household appliances in the house.

Naturally, the user mobile device, even if he knows exactly what he wants to install, it is extremely difficult to resist downloading additional applications. In this case, programs and widgets and “one-time” series begin to accumulate, increasing the number of desktops. Because of this:

  • The desktop turns into a real dump of icons
  • It's quite difficult to find the app you need in this dump
  • Applications running in background, overload the battery and processor.

However, the functionality of the operating room Android systems allows you to properly clean up your phone’s desktop and get rid of the clutter of unnecessary shortcuts, widgets and additional work screens. There are 3 simple ways to do this:

Method 1. How to remove a shortcut or widget from the Android desktop through the system trash

This method is convenient because it does not require working with system settings. Everything happens on the main screen of your smartphone:

  • Selecting an unnecessary program
  • Hold your finger on the label
  • Wait until the Remove/Delete option appears
  • Drag the icon to the desired item

To simply erase an icon from the desktop, just select the “Remove” command. In this case, the program will remain in the smartphone menu, from where it can be returned to the main screen at any time. But the “Delete” command will uninstall the application.

It is worth noting that this method only works with third party applications. System programs can only remove icons from the desktop.

As a rule, after deleting any application, the so-called cache remains in the memory of the mobile device - residual files that load the processor and overflow internal memory. Therefore, after uninstalling a program or widget, we recommend using a garbage cleaning application, for example, Clean Master:

  • Install the application on your smartphone
  • Give the program access to the files
  • Click on the "Trash" button
  • Click "Delete"

The utility will thoroughly scan your smartphone and delete all excess cache.
