Widgets are graphic objects that display information or perform certain actions. They were created to simplify device management, monitor dynamic information, and generally decorate the workspace. Widgets for tablets come in a variety of varieties, but they can all be divided into groups:
Widgets and/or icons
There is no definite division between them in the world. If it is convenient for us to call program shortcuts icons, then in some countries they are also called widgets. For example, even in the Android Play Market there is no difference. Evidence of this is the “Add widgets to the screen automatically” function. If you uncheck the box, icons will not appear on the display screens when installing applications.
How to install widgets on your tablet?

How to remove widgets from the tablet screen?

Shell widgets
Such widgets come as an addition to shells (Wizard). As a rule, they only fit a specific shell and cannot be installed without it. They differ from ordinary ones only in matching the design of the launcher or in a more beautiful appearance.
For example, in Next Launcher the contact block is displayed as a honeycomb. The latter can be turned over and several hundred can be added at once. For each cell, you can take a miniature photo directly from the camera or upload it. But the most interesting thing is that when you double-click on a cell, a call is made, that is, you do not need to go into the phone book.
You know how to delete widgets on a tablet, but with launcher widgets things are different. The fact is that such blocks are considered separate applications, so they need to be deleted separately. It's easy to do. For example, if you installed GO Launcher, then in the list of applications all programs starting with the word GO will belong to this launcher, and so will widgets.

Installing a widget on Android
To install you need to do a series of steps enough simple actions which are described below:
- Tap and hold your finger on the desktop of your phone or tablet for a few seconds, then a context menu will appear

- Any program installed on your device has one or more widgets

- Select the one you want, touch it and hold it with your finger on the screen. The widget will immediately appear on your desktop. You can move it to a convenient place on your desktop.
In Android OS versions 4.0 and higher context menu There is a special tab called “Widgets”. It should be noted that when you delete a widget, you do not delete the program itself. It remains in the phone or tablet menu. For complete removal programs from the device, use the “Uninstall programs” item in the settings of your phone or tablet.
The Today screen in iOS contains many widgets, such as weather, news, calendar, maps, recommended apps, etc. This screen is located to the left of the Home screen and can also be accessed from the Lock screen by swiping right.

It is worth noting that this method only works with third party applications. System programs can only remove icons from the desktop.

- Install the application on your smartphone
- Give the program access to the files
- Click on the "Trash" button
