One of the most common problems that users encounter when connecting to the World Wide Web is a failure characterized by two alerts: about the lack of access to the Internet and about the presence of an unidentified network. The first of them is displayed when you hover over the network icon in the tray, and the second - when you go to "Control center". Let's find out how to fix this problem when working with Windows 7.

There are several possible reasons occurrence of the above situation:

  • Problems on the operator's side;
  • Incorrect router configuration;
  • Hardware failures;
  • Problems within the OS.

If there are problems on the operator’s side, as a rule, you just need to wait until he restores the network, or even better, call and clarify the cause of the problem and the time frame for its elimination.

If the hardware parts fail: router, modem, cable, network card, Wi-Fi adapter, you need to send the faulty components for repair or simply replace them.

We have separate articles devoted to the problems of setting up routers.

In this article we will focus on eliminating the error "Unidentified network", which arose due to incorrect settings or failures within the Windows 7 OS.

Method 1: Adapter Settings

One of the reasons for this error is incorrectly entered parameters within the adapter settings.

  1. Click "Start" and go to "Control Panel".
  2. Open "Network and Internet".
  3. Move to "Control center…".
  4. In the shell that opens, in the left area, click "Change settings…".
  5. A window with a list of connections is activated. Select the active connection that is working with the above error, right-click on it ( RMB) and select from the list that appears "Properties".
  6. In the window that opens, in the block with the list of elements, select Internet protocol version 4 and click on the button "Properties".
  7. The protocol parameters window will open. Move both radio buttons to position "Get…" and press "OK". This will allow automatic assignment of an IP address and DNS server address.

Unfortunately, even now not all providers support automatic settings. Therefore, if the above option does not work, you need to contact your ISP and find out the current IP and DNS address settings. After that, set both radio buttons to position "Use…" and fill in the active fields with the data provided by the Internet operator. Having done this, click "OK".

  8. After completing one of the two options indicated in the previous step, you will return to the main connection properties window. Be sure to click on the button here "OK", otherwise the previously introduced changes will not take effect.
  9. After this, the connection will be identified and thus the problem with the unidentified network will be resolved.

Method 2: Installing drivers

The problem discussed in this article can also be caused by incorrect installation of drivers or installation of drivers not from the manufacturer of the network card or adapter. In this case, you need to reinstall them, making sure to use only those that are officially provided by the device developer. Next, we will consider several options for achieving this goal. First, let's look at a simple reinstallation.

  1. Go to "Control Panel" using the same steps as in the previous method. Go to the section "System and safety".
  2. Click on the tool name "Device Manager" in the block "System".
  3. The interface will open "Device Manager". Click on the block name « Network adapters» .
  4. A list of network adapters connected to this PC will open. Find in it the name of the adapter or network card through which you are trying to access the World Wide Web. Click this item RMB and select from the drop-down list "Delete".
  5. After this, a window will open where you need to click "OK" to confirm the action.
  6. A procedure will begin during which the device will be removed.
  7. Now you need to connect it again, thereby reinstalling the driver, which is what is required. To do this, click "Action" and select "Update configuration...".
  8. The hardware configuration will be updated, the network card or adapter will be reconnected, the driver will be reinstalled, which ultimately will most likely help fix the problem with the unidentified network.

There are cases with problems with drivers when the above algorithm of actions does not help. Then you need to remove the current drivers and install an analogue from the network card manufacturer. But before deleting, be sure to make sure you have necessary drivers. They must be stored on installation disk, which came with network card or adapter. If you do not have such a disk, the necessary software can be downloaded from the manufacturer’s official website.

Attention! If you are planning to download drivers from the manufacturer's official website, you need to do this before you begin the procedure for removing the current ones. This is due to the fact that after uninstallation you will not be able to log out. world wide web, and therefore load the necessary objects.

There are several options for action if an error occurs with an unidentified network in Windows 7 when trying to connect to the Internet. The solution to a problem depends on its specific root cause. If the problem was caused by some kind of failure or incorrect system settings, then in most cases it can be solved either by configuring the adapter through the OS interface or by reinstalling the drivers.

Sometimes there may be no Internet connection and a message appears in the tray: “Unidentified network without Internet access.” The problem may occur due to various reasons. The article below details what you need to do to fix such problems.

Very often this happens when the PC owner configures access to the Network or Wi-Fi router y, and everything is reset. The incident is blamed on the Internet service provider or Personal Computer, for example, when reinstalling Windows.

It looks like this. There is no Internet connection, sites do not load normally. In the lower right corner, near the time, a yellow icon is displayed, and there is an exclamation mark inside it. By clicking on the icon, the text of the message will appear. When Internet access is configured through a router, the text of the message will be slightly different: “No Internet connection, protected.”

Note! There are many reasons for this problem. And not every one of them can be eliminated easily and in a few minutes, but it’s worth a try.

Reasons for the message

To understand the origin of this problem, you need to check and find out whether other devices can work through the router. If home network it functions properly on another PC, which means the problem is not with the provider. If not, then there are two possible scenarios:

  • there is a notification “Without access to the Internet”, unidentified network not in the list of connections;
  • the notification is displayed in full.

Note! The first option indicates that the problem arose due to the Internet service provider, the second indicates problems with the router.

If the problem is caused internally, you can try the following:

  • Reboot the device that issues this alert. This should be a restart, and not turning off the device completely and turning the device on again.
  • The router needs to be rebooted if it is used to search for a network. To do this, it is recommended to disconnect it from the network, wait about 10 seconds, then connect it again.
  • The device may stop connecting to the network after such manipulations as a system update, reset and reinstallation with saving data, configuration new program antivirus downloaded from an unknown source. Then you can try turning it off for a while. The same situation may appear when using third-party VPN programs. But then you will need to remove them for a while to check if this is the reason.

Below is information about the reasons for the appearance of an unidentified network without access to the Internet in Win 7 and what to do about the problems. But it will be difficult for a beginner to correct the situation without additional information and skills, but you can try.

Troubleshooting if the connection is made directly

There are several options for what to do with the “Unidentified network without Internet access” error for Windows 7.

Invalid IPv4 protocol values

In this case, the network address cannot be obtained from the system type, since it is specified incorrectly.

Note! As a rule, this is accompanied by a suspiciously long identification time during the next connection to the Internet. At the same time, the PC owner could not change the data in the settings of his device. A malicious program can restrict access to the Internet.

To get everything right, you need:

  1. Go to the “Control Panel” section, then to the “Network and Sharing Center” shared access", where you find the button "Change adapter settings" and click on it.
  2. Then you should find “Unidentified network” among the proposed connections and click the mouse. Select “Properties” from the drop-down menu.
  3. There, click on the “Internet Protocol Version 4 TCP/IPv4” section, where just below click on the “Properties” menu.
  4. All that remains is to check the status of receiving automatic IP and DNS server addresses (but only if the network is not corporate), it should be active. Or analyze the correct configurations if the connection occurs through a router and the provider requires you to specify them.

Note! You can also try manually setting other settings. For example, change the IP type by changing the last digit. However, numbers close to one are not recommended. It is important to enter the address of the router in the default gateway field, specify the addresses of the DNS servers Google DNS. The preferred DNS server is 8.8.8.8, the alternative is 8.8.4.4. It is also advisable to clear the DNS cache.

When something changes, you will need to click on “Save”. If this was the cause of the problem, Internet access should resume.

TCP/IP problem

A problem in TCP/IP means that there is a software problem in the Internet protocol. To eliminate them, you can reset the TCP/IP settings.

To do this you should:

  1. Open command line on behalf of the administrator. To carry out these actions, select the “Start” button, enter “Command Prompt” in the search bar, right-click on it and select “Run as administrator”.
  2. Enter the text there: netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt and press the Enter key.

There is another way - to enter the commands presented below sequentially:

  • Netsh int ip reset;
  • Ipconfig /release;
  • Ipconfig /renew.

The reason is DHCP

The Internet may disappear for this reason when the Internet connection cable is used for the first time. This is due to the fact that the PC cannot obtain a network address.

Note! To solve this problem, you need to set the network address for the network adapter you are using.

  1. Open the “Network Adapters” folder, select the “Properties” tab of the Wi-Fi network adapter or card that is usually used by clicking on its icon with the mouse.
  2. Select the “Advanced” tab.
  3. Find the “Network Address” (it can be represented as Network Address), where you should specify a 12-bit number. In this case, you can use any numbers and letters of the English alphabet from A to F.
  4. Confirm the changes by clicking OK.
  5. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

At the end, all that remains is to write on the command line:

  • Ipconfig /release;
  • Ipconfig /renew.

Solutionproblems connecting via router

The three most common causes of problems in the Network configured through a router.

Provider's fault

Perhaps most often an unidentified network appears precisely because incorrect operation provider. In this case, the user usually did nothing the day before: the settings were not changed, the drivers were not updated, and Windows was not reinstalled. Just five minutes ago everything was working and suddenly it stopped.

Note! There is only one solution to the problem - wait for everything to work itself out. But it is important to make sure that the failure is on the provider’s side.

To do this you should:

  • call on hotline provider;
  • try connecting another computer, laptop or netbook to the cable. If the provider is to blame, then the network will not work on any of the devices.

When the local Ethernet connection is not configured correctly

In this case you need:

  1. Visit the “Control Panel” section by clicking “Start”.
  2. Find “Network and Sharing Center”.
  3. After that, click “Change adapter settings”.
  4. Mark required connection By local network and open the Properties tab.
  5. In the menu that appears on the screen, select “Internet Protocol Version 4 TCP/IPv4”.

What exactly needs to be changed there was discussed above in the section “Incorrect IPv4 protocol parameters”.

The drivers for the network card have crashed

It often happens that an unidentified network appears after Windows reinstallation. This applies in particular to laptops. At the same time, the device manager displays information that all the necessary drivers are already installed, but there is still no access to the Internet. Then you need to download the drivers from the official source - the website of the company that manufactured the laptop or motherboard, or the network or wireless adapter company.

Important! These drivers need to be installed manually, although Device Manager shows that they do not require updating.

Thus, the reasons for the appearance of a message about an unidentified network without access to the Internet, as well as ways to eliminate them, may be different. One of them should definitely help. The main thing is to thoroughly understand everything.

You are trying to connect to the Internet, and everything seemed to be going well... But suddenly you see that a yellow triangle with a yellow triangle appears next to the connection icon, and instead of any information about the connection, the inscription “Unidentified network” appears. Without access to the Internet." A reasonable question here arises: “Why is this even happening and how to fix the situation?”

We invite you to stop swearing for a minute and read this article, where you will find the answer to all your questions!

Try rebooting your router

This is an option for those who previously had a normal connection, everything worked, and then suddenly a seemingly familiar and “tested” connection says “Unidentified network.”

Perhaps some settings of the router itself have gone wrong. They can recover again with reconnection. To do this, simply unplug the router from the outlet and then plug it in again.

In addition, you need to check if there is a connection when connecting directly via cable. There is a possibility that the roots of the problem are on the ISP side - the Internet service provider. Did not help? Then let's move on.

Check your wireless connection settings on your computer

If you have already rebooted the router, but the message “Unidentified network. Without access to the Internet" has not disappeared; the reason may lie in incorrect settings of the wireless adapter or the network itself on the computer.

Problems with IP addresses often occur, for example, when the system is not able to obtain it automatically. If you entered them manually, then most likely the specified address is incorrect, or the subnet has been changed.

In this case, you need to check the adapter settings in the Network and Sharing Center. In the window that appears, you need to select the connection you are using, right-click on its icon and select “Status”. The “Connection Status” window will appear on the screen. That's what we need. If the “IPv4 Address” item indicates an address in the format 169.254.X.X, then the system was unable to automatically obtain an IP address using the router’s DHCP server.

First of all, in this case, it makes sense to try to register it manually. On the bottom of the router, as a rule, there is a sticker indicating the model and brand of the device. On it you can see its IP address, as well as data for accessing the web interface (login and password).

Right-click on the icon again, but this time select “Properties”. Then you need to select the “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” component and put a dot in the new window next to “Use...”.

Typical router settings

For most routers (with the exception of D-Link routers), the following settings should be suitable:

If no access appears when working with a D-Link router, use other settings:

Adjust your router settings

Many people, in order to set up a router, exactly duplicate the settings indicated as an example on the network. And often this is what leads to the computer subsequently displaying the message “Unidentified network. Without access to the Internet."

The examples exist only so that users can understand which item in which section of the device menu is responsible for what. You must specify your settings, and not those indicated in the example. It happens that the settings given as an example coincide with yours. If this is not the case, you may have difficulty gaining access to the network.

Double-check your username and password. If you missed a character, chose the wrong case or input language, there will be no Internet. In addition, an unidentified WiFi network may appear due to an incorrectly selected connection type.

During this time, be sure to use your own settings, and not those suggested in other people’s examples, then everything will work out.

Update your drivers

Outdated or non-working drivers also often cause a computer or laptop to only receive limited access. The unidentified network will be able to be identified normally when you fix this problem.

Important! The drivers that the Windows operating system installs itself do not always work adequately. A much more reliable option is to download the appropriate software directly from your router manufacturer's website.

Change MAC address

Have you done everything described above, but an unidentified network without access to the Internet remains, and you do not observe any signs of life from the connection?

The problem may be related to the device's MAC address being incorrect. However, this is only relevant in cases where all devices connected to the same network are working normally and have access to the Internet, and only one computer or laptop is experiencing problems.

The trick is that manufacturers often assign all boards the same MAC address. If you reinstalled the drivers from the disk that came with motherboard, two devices with the same MAC address may appear on the network. Is this your case? Then you should try to register it manually.

Press the Win+R key combination, and then in the “Run” window enter the command devmgmt.msc. So you open Windows. This must be done on behalf of a user with administrator rights. In the manager we need to find the “Network adapters” item. In the drop-down list you will see the name of the device with which the computer connects to the Internet. Double-click on the adapter icon and select “Advanced” in the window that appears. We need a "Network Address". You should check the box next to the empty field, then enter 12 digits in this field, click “OK” and restart the computer.

Check your firewall

Incorrect firewall settings are another common reason why a computer or laptop displays the error “Unidentified network. Without access to the Internet."

If the firewall is configured correctly, it will stop unauthorized attempts to penetrate the network from the outside and prevent malicious actions. However, sometimes it blocks all data flows altogether.

Check the IP addresses that the firewall does not allow access to the Internet; your device’s address should not be among them. It is better to register the entire list of IPs that should be blocked yourself; it takes a little time, but there will be no risk that your computer will accidentally be included in the list of prohibited devices.

Nothing helped?

Then, most likely, it is not possible to correct the situation without the intervention of specialists. Regardless of which version operating system you are using, be it 7 or Windows 8, the unidentified network will be recognized and will begin to work normally only after the wizard diagnoses all the equipment, repairs it if necessary (or recommends replacing it) and enters the necessary settings. As a rule, such problems are resolved within 20-30 minutes.

I hope this article helped you deal with all your problems.

Quite often, when connecting to the Internet, you can see the message “unidentified network without Internet access.”

Obviously, it indicates that connecting to the World Wide Web on this moment impossible.

Moreover, such a message can be seen both when connecting directly, via cable, and when connecting via wifi. Its appearance does not depend on whether a laptop or a full-fledged PC is used.

Moreover, it can also occur when connecting via a phone or tablet. Therefore, it would be useful to understand why this error occurs and what can be done about it.

We will divide all the many tips into two categories - when the system writes such a message when connecting directly and when connecting via wifi.

Solution. When connected directly

In this case, the error will look like this.

In general, if you use a direct connection, then the most common cause of this problem is problems on the ISP side.

It's very easy to check - if you didn't change any settings and everything worked fine some time ago, then this is the reason.

You can also check this by connecting the cable to another device or through a router - if the problem persists, this is not the cause.

But if this is the case, there is only one way to solve it and it is to call your provider and have a specialist come to your home.

Incorrect IPv4 settings

Another very common cause of this problem is Windows systems is a failure of the IPv4 protocol parameters. To fix this problem, you need to do the following:

  • Go to the “Network and Sharing Center”. This is done very simply - you need to right-click on the network connection icon in the panel quick launch. After that, select the desired item.
It all looks as shown in the figure.
  • Select the item “Change adapter settings” on the left side of the window that opens.

  • Right-click on your connection and select “Properties”.

Note: It is quite possible that in your case the network will be called differently. You need to look at what it is called when you try to connect, that is, in the window shown in the figure. The same connection must be selected in the menu shown in the figure.

  • The window shown in Figure A opens. There you need to select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” (it is highlighted in red) and click the “Properties” button (highlighted in green). After this, a window similar to that shown in Figure B will open.
You need to make sure that the automatic data acquisition items (they are highlighted in yellow frames) are checked. In most cases this should be the case. But at this stage it would be useful to take your contract with the provider in hand.
It is quite possible that the provider requires that there be some special data there. In this case, you need to check the boxes highlighted in blue and enter the data from the contract in the fields with the same color. After all the manipulations, click the “OK” button.

If nothing connects now, you can try restarting the computer. Does not help? Go ahead!

Problems with TCP/IP

Also, the cause of the error described above may be failures in the TCP/IP protocol settings.

Most effective method To rule out this option is to simply reset all these settings.

This is done as follows:

  • Launch the command line as administrator. The easiest way to do this is using the following sequence of actions:
  • Open the “Start” menu (highlighted in red in the figure);
  • Click “All Programs”, find the “Standard” folder there (shown with an orange frame);
  • On the “Command Prompt” item (highlighted in green), right-click;
  • Select “Run as administrator” (highlighted in blue).

  • We write the following there: “netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt” as shown in the figure. Press Enter and restart the computer.

Clue: the above inscription can be copied directly from here using a key combinationCTRL+C, and in the command line you need to right-click on an empty space and click “Paste”.

If this method fails for some reason, you can download a special utility to reset TCP/IP settings at support.microsoft.com/kb/299357.

After downloading it, you just need to launch it, the program will do everything itself.

Problems with DHCP

To check this option, you should launch the command line in the same way as described above and write “ipconfig” there.

If “169.254.[any number].[any number]” is written next to the “Main gateway” (it’s underlined in the figure),” most likely the problem is with DHCP.

To fix this problem, do the following:

  • We go to the device manager. To do this, in the “Start” menu, launch “Control Panel” (shown in blue in the figure). After that, in the search bar (highlighted in red) we write “Device Manager”.
We launch the one next to which it says “Updating device drivers” (highlighted in green).

  • In the manager we find the item “Network adapters” (it is underlined in the figure), on ours (there may be additional ones - virtual ones, but virtual ones usually say “Virtual”), right-click and select the item “Properties” (highlighted in red).
In the menu that opens, go to the “Advanced” tab, find the “Network Address” item in the list and in the “Value” field (highlighted in blue) write any 16-bit number with 12 characters. You can write one as shown in the figure. Click "OK".

  • Open the command line as described above and write “ipconfig /release”, press Enter, then “ipconfig /renew” and Enter again.

  • Reboot the computer.

If all this does not help, there is only one thing left to do - call the operator and ask for help.

Important: For all the methods described above, the interface was usedWindows7, in other versions of the operating system the appearance of the windows may be slightly different, but the essence remains the same.

Solution. When connecting via a router

In this case, there may be many reasons, but checking whether the problem is really in the router is very simple.

To do this, the Internet cable with an RJ45 tip must be removed from the router and connected directly to the computer.

If the Internet appears in this way, then the problem is really in the router. There may be something wrong with its settings.

To eliminate this option, your best bet is to simply reset all settings.

To do this, you need to find a special connector on the back of the device, which looks like the one shown in the figure.

On some routers, “Reset” is written next to it, then finding this connector will not be difficult.

You need to insert a needle, match or something like that into it, press the button located inside with this object, and hold it in this state for several seconds.

After this, you can try to connect again and reconfigure the router.

What else we can do is update the wifi adapter drivers. To do this, go to the device manager in the manner described above.

Only in the “Network adapters” section you need to select the one whose name will include the inscription “wifi”.

Right-click on it and select “Update drivers...”, then follow the instructions in the explorer.

Basically, that's all we can do in this case. If all this does not help, we call our provider again and seek a visit from a specialist.

The reasons for this error and ways to eliminate it are clearly shown in the video below.

Network without Internet access (unidentified network)

Unidentified network without Internet access - What to do?

Hello, friends. And again I will write about wireless Wi-Fi networks and setting up a router. The article about this raised a lot of questions. And as a rule, these are questions like: everything works, but Wi-Fi network without access to the Internet, or the Internet works via cable, but not via Wi-Fi. Well something like that.

Today, I decided to deal with this problem, I understand why such problems can arise.

Here are a few more questions from the article about setting up the TP-Link TL-WR841N router:

Or, Oleg asked the following question:

Hello, here’s the problem: everything is connected to Wi-Fi, you can connect to it both from the computer that distributes it, and from other devices, it sees it and connects, but without Internet access, write in a PM or here I will be very grateful, I’ve been suffering for days but nothing. Help.

So I decided to delve into this topic. Oleg has already configured everything, and everything works for him, but first things first.

I think the problem that we will now solve is clear, and it’s the same for you: after setting up a Wi-Fi router, the Internet via Wi-Fi does not work, or only works via a cable from the router, or does not work at all through the router. We will consider this issue using routers from TP-Link as an example, although I have specific model TP-Link TL-WR841N, but still, I think that the settings are not very different from each other. In principle, if you have some other router, then read it anyway, it might come in handy.

Wi-Fi network without Internet access. What to do?

If a problem has already occurred that the device connects to the Wi-Fi network, but the sites do not open, then first of all we need to find what’s wrong. On the Internet itself, on a router, or on a laptop, tablet and phone.

Checking the Internet connection without a router

Let's go in order. First, we check whether the Internet is working, otherwise you never know. To do this, simply connect the network cable directly to the computer, without a router. If the Internet works fine, then everything is fine, let's move on. If not, then solve this problem with your provider.

If everything is fine with the Internet, then there is a problem either with the router, or with the laptop, or other device that you want to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

We find out whether the problem is in the router or laptop.

To do this, just try to connect not only one laptop to your router, but also a phone, tablet, or another laptop. If all devices find your Wi-Fi network, but when connected it will not have access to the Internet (this connection status can be seen on the laptop), or sites simply won’t open, then the problem is Wi-Fi settings router.

Well, if, for example, the Internet via Wi-Fi does not work on only one laptop, but other devices connect and open websites, then the problem is in the laptop (not necessarily a laptop, it could be ).

I hope you managed to find out what the problem is, in the router or in the laptop. And now we will look at how to solve, or at least try to solve, this or that case.

If the problem is with the laptop

If it turns out that you have a problem with your laptop and the network without the Internet is only on it, then you need to check the settings of the wireless network connection. Perhaps during the process of setting up the router, you changed some settings on the laptop, or you previously set up some other network. Personally, on my laptop with Windows 7, there are parameters by which the laptop automatically receives an IP address and DNS server from the router.

Everything works for me with these settings, my router is configured as written in the article. To check if you have it configured correctly wireless connection on a laptop, then do this:

Connect to your network, the laptop should connect, but the notification bar icon that shows Wi-Fi will have a yellow triangle, meaning no internet access. Like this:

Then, in a new window, on the right, click on "Change adapter settings".

A window will open in which you need to select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and click the “Properties” button.

Another window will open in which you need to make sure that the items are checked and “Obtain DNS servers automatically”. If not, then mark these values and click “Ok”.

Restart your laptop, and if your Wi-Fi router is configured correctly (and, as we found out above, it is configured correctly), then the Wi-Fi network on the laptop should work and the sites should open.

Another important point: very often the connection can be blocked by antiviruses and firewalls, so try disabling them.

Update! I wrote a detailed article in which I separately discussed the main problems with connecting a laptop to Wi-Fi -

If the problem is with the Wi-Fi router

Before you start setting up your router, it is advisable to reset the settings to factory settings. To do this, press with something sharp and hold the small button on the back panel of the router for 10 seconds (more details in the article). Then you can configure the router as written in the article on setting up TP-Link TL-WR841N (link is above).

In solving a problem with a network without Internet access, we are only interested in the tab WAN. In this section, we configure the Internet connection that we connect to the router, setting up the provider, so to speak.

And if your provider uses a different connection technology, for example Static IP, PPPoE, or PPTP, then setting up with Dynamic IP, like mine, will not work for you. Because the router simply cannot connect to the Internet, it creates a network, but there is no Internet. And exactly The whole problem is in these settings.

For example, we can consider the problem that Oleg had, which I wrote about at the beginning of the article. He has a Beeline provider, in the settings on the WAN tab, opposite WAN Connection Type: he chose Dynamic IP and therefore his Internet did not work.

After I started to figure out what the problem was, it turned out that Beeline uses L2TP/Russian L2TP technology. After Oleg installed L2TP/Russian L2TP opposite WAN Connection Type, entered his username and password, and made other settings, everything worked. This is what the router settings for Beeline look like:

As you already understand, this problem is solved very simply. You need to call your provider, or look on the Internet what connection method he uses to connect. And based on the information you receive from your provider, you need to configure the router, or rather the WAN tab. Here is another forum address http://forum.tp-linkru.com/viewtopic.php?p=253#p253 where it is written how to configure TP-Link routers for some Russian providers, such as Beeline\Corbina, NetByNet, QWERTY, Dom.ru, 2KOM, etc.

If the provider binds to the MAC address

And further about binding to MAC address. Some providers do this, and it can interfere with setting up your router. Therefore, you need to connect the router via network cable to a computer whose MAC address is registered with the provider, go to the MAC Clone tab in the router settings And click on the Clone MAC Address button, click Save.

Update

They shared with me one solution that helped overcome this problem when connecting via Wi-Fi. The person had Windows 8 and everything worked fine. But he decided to install Windows 7 and after that the problems started. Laptop to wireless network connected, but “Without access to the Internet.” All the advice didn’t help, but this is what did:

Go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center. Then, on the left select Wireless Network Management.

Right-click on the network that is having trouble connecting to it. Select properties.

Go to the tab Safety, then click on the button Extra options. Check the box next to Enable Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) compliance mode for this network

I hope that I was able to clearly and step-by-step describe what could cause a problem when the network works through a router, but without access to the Internet. And how to solve this problem. Perhaps I didn’t write about something, so I ask you to fill me in in the comments. After all, it is impossible to write about all the ways to solve this problem, because there can be a lot of reasons for its occurrence. Good luck friends!
