Among the huge number of programs for the computer, we simple "home" users use a fairly small percentage of the number of necessary programs (for work). As a computer user, I constantly spend 5-6 hours a day behind it. Of these, 60% of this time I spend at work, and the remaining 40% for entertainment at the computer. My list of frequently used programs consists of about 15-20 applications.

Since everyone has fun at the computer in their own way, therefore, we will consider a list of commonly used programs for working on a computer, and not for entertainment.

If you have a home new computer and the frequently used Windows operating system is installed on it, I definitely advise you to install the following list of programs:

Antivirus. Undoubtedly, the most important of the frequently used programs is the antivirus! Be sure to install any, at least a free antivirus program such as Panda Cloud Antivirus, Avast, and so on ... Or paid programs NOD32, Kaspersky Internet Security.
Internet browser(program for viewing Internet pages, sites) - . Of course, you will definitely have a standard browser on your computer. Internet Explorer, but most people rarely use it because of its inconvenience. I advise you to use any of the following browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera. For me, Chrome has become a frequently used browser, I would say that even the main program for surfing the Internet.
Text editor. I think that often there will be a pupil or a student in the house who will need to prepare reports and abstracts. Here we need programs for working with text. The program has received great popularity. But, unfortunately, it is paid and its cost starts from 2 thousand rubles, and installing it illegally is not a good thing, however, this is your choice. There is, of course, a way out! There is officially free programs, which will provide you with no less opportunities for working with text. An example of such programs that are also often used is OpenOffice, LibreOffice. They quietly replace the Microsoft Office suite.
Archiver program. If you are an active computer user, you often work with documents on it, use e-mail. You need this program because. it makes it possible to reduce the size of many types of files by creating an archive. Which has its advantages. I advise, and I myself use the 7-Zip archiver program. It's simple and free.
Skype- program for video and audio negotiations. If you are connected to the Internet and you have a great opportunity to communicate for free with friends and relatives who are far away from you, even outside the country. You can also install the program ICQ which has such a possibility.
I will also include in this list audio and video player programs. On Windows, to listen to music, I use the standard Windows program media player, it does not need to be installed, it is already there. But to watch the video, I advise and often use the program myself KMPlayer.

Of course, each computer user has his own list of frequently used programs, it depends directly on the purpose for which the computer was purchased.

If you find that the parameter "Show most used apps" disabled or unavailable in Windows 10 v1703, then there is a simple solution that can help you fix this problem.

The setting "Show most used apps" is greyed out

This setting, when enabled, displays a list of Most Used Applications on the Start menu. You can enable it by going to the following path - Settings → Personalization → Start.

Some users reported that this setting is disabled. If you find that the Show most used apps option is greyed out, here is what you need to do to fix this issue.

Press the keyboard shortcut Win + I to open Windows Settings 10. Go Privacy –→ General.

On the right side of the page, find and make sure that this option is set to Included.

Now go back and check" Show most used apps". You will see that it is now enabled.

Hope this helps solve the problem!

In its new Windows 10 operating system, Microsoft tried to combine the advantages of the "old" versions of the system (Windows 7 and earlier) to the maximum with the most successful innovations that appeared in Windows 8.1.

The result of these efforts, in particular, was the new Start menu (on PCs, laptops and large tablets), which is transformed into a start screen on compact devices with small diagonal displays. At the same time, many of us in Windows 10 will appreciate the ability to customize appearance and the behavior of this most updated menu. For example, today we will talk about how to remove frequently used applications from the Start menu.

Fortunately, this option, which will seem superfluous and useless to many, can be quite easily removed from the Start menu and the start menu. Windows screen, and return to the previous place.

In order to remove the "Frequently used" section from the Start menu, you need to do the following:

1. Click on the "Settings" button with the gear icon located at the bottom of the Windows Start Menu / Start Screen menu

2. In the system settings window that opens, select the "Personalization" section

3. Now go to the "Start" section and in the menu that opens on the right, turn off the option "Save and show the last opened programs in the Start menu"

That's it, you've done it: now the start menu will be free from unnecessary elements for you.

And what about those who find the Frequently Used section useful, but who would like to remove individual programs from it, leaving only the necessary ones?

And this is done very simply: right-click (long tap on the tablet) on the icon of the application that you would like to remove from frequently used ones, and select “Do not show in this list” from the pop-up menu. After that, the application you selected will not be displayed in it.

This application removes unused files from your smartphone - this way you keep order and get rid of the garbage that devours the memory of your Android device. The Clean Master Lite utility will remove the application cache and also free up memory from unused running applications. Also, there is a function to analyze the performance of the device and files on the SD card and an antivirus to check downloaded files. Have you ever wondered which apps take up most of your time? Of course, you can guess what you use the most, but seeing what you use (and how often) can be quite helpful. The best part is that finding this information is as easy as installing an app from the Play Store.

To track app usage, we are going to use an app called Quality Time. This simple application provides gives a lot of good information in an intuitive way. clear interface and it's also free.

Setting and using Quality Time

To get started, install Quality Time and create an account. You can sign in with Facebook if you want, or just create a new one account(if you don't already have it).

After you log in, you need to grant Quality Time access to use the applications. Press the "Permit" button, then "Quality Time", then switch the use of access to the "On" position. This is what allows Quality Time to track application usage - without this setting, an application cannot do what it is designed to do.

Quality Time will start tracking app usage. It doesn't see anything before the application has been installed (or before the resource is granted access if you installed it and didn't configure it), so you'll start from scratch.

However, when you use your phone, Quality Time will track your behavior. This includes how much time you spend in all your apps, how many times you open those apps, and how many times you unlock your screen. He tracks this information daily and weekly, so on a longer timeline it becomes very useful.

The app opens on the "Today" screen, which shows all your activity from the current day to good format timeline.

It's pretty simple: tracking starts every day the first time you unlock your phone, so usually when the alarm goes off. The app saves usage across clusters since most of us don't turn off the display before launching each new app, but it also keeps track of downtime. For a minute-by-minute breakdown, click on one of these clusters.

To get more general general form of your day, swipe your finger across the "Today" screen. This will take you to the Today view in the Daily Usage view, which gives you a quick overview of which apps you've been running the most and how much time you've spent in each one. In addition, you can swipe left to view various information about your app activity, such as how many times you opened each app and unlocked your phone. You can also scroll through the days using the section at the bottom.

If you swipe down on the Daily Usage screen, it will bring up the Weekly Usage view. This shows your usage for the week, where you can scroll through the frequencies again, as well as the various weeks at the bottom.

Clicking on any app in the daily or weekly view will show you the relevant data for that app only. You can move one screen to the left to see how many times you have opened the app. Again, you can view statistics by day by selecting them at the bottom.

Also on the Daily Usage page, you can click on the day itself to display the usage graph. It's a pretty cool thing to see when you're most active on your phone. Note that the app usage chart doesn't change here, just the bar chart at the bottom.

Additional Features Quality Time

Everything related to the main interface of Quality Time is very simple. However, it does have a few extra features, such as a great "take a break" feature that "forces" you to leave your phone alone for a while.

To access this feature, scroll down to the bottom "Today" page and click on the three bars at the bottom to open the menu. From there, click "Take a Break", which will prompt you to set up a Quality Time profile.

You will need to give your profile a name to begin with, and then choose how long you want to take a break by choosing to block notifications and/or calls. You can also allow certain apps to bypass the break.

NOTE: If you choose to block notifications, you will need to grant access to Quality Time notifications, and if you want to block calls, you will need to allow access to the calling app. Both options will be presented if you try to enable any of these features.

Finally, you need to define an "Early Manual Exit Penalty", which is the amount of time you will have to wait before using your phone if you cancel your "Take Break" early...

Once you've set your options, click the "Create" button at the top.

NOTE: Once a profile has been created, you will not be able to delete it without creating a second profile. In other words, once a profile has been created, you must constantly use it.

After creating your profile, open the menu and click "Take break" to use this feature. A new screen will appear asking you how long you want to use the break (and which profile if you have more than one). Once installed, simply press the "Start" button to start your break.

At this point, your phone will be useless. You can press the home button to go to main screen, but that's it - when you try to run the app, Quality Time will launch the "break" screen. Unless otherwise noted, the only app allowed to bypass this screen is the Calls app.

However, you can end your break by clicking the X in the bottom right corner. However, you will have to wait for the "Early Manual Exit Penalty" you set earlier, so keep that in mind. And once the time is up, you will first have to view the advertisement.

App Usage , but in our opinion Quality Time is more intuitive and offers a bit more information than App Usage. However, both apps are great, and if Quality Time doesn't work for you, try App Usage.
